May Update

This past month has been AMAZING! God has moved in my heart in many ways. He is faithful and he is love! This is little update about what God is doing in me and in Japan.

Each week of the school we have a different topic. The last three topics were; God’s Fatherheart, Freedom and we just ended Holy Spirit week! During the Fatherheart week God gave me revelation of his love and that he is true to his promises.

Freedom week was intense and definitely freeing. We learned about repentance (true repentance which is confessing and then turning around a doing the opposite of that sin), our authority in Jesus and our original design (how God originally made us to be; the “Eden” ourselves). God showed me that fear is a big stronghold in my life and he is breaking it down brick by brick. He is showing me how to walk in who he originally made me to be; which is bold and courageous. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love and self-discipline.” 1 Timothy 1:7. You can pray that I get greater revelation of his love and that all the barriers that are blocking me from receiving his love would be removed. “Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear…” 1 John 4:18.

This week was Holy Spirit week and we learned about him as a friend. I encountered him in a new and fresh way and although that week was for some reason a battle for me, God pushed me through. So yes, that is what God has been doing in my heart!

All of the students (and staff as well) are a part of a ministry that is going on in Tokyo. Some people work with homeless church, a youth group called HI-BA, an English school or the Tokyo University ministry. I am a part of the Wasada University ministry. There are five of us (three students and two staff) and we pray walk the campus of Wasada and follow whatever we feel God wants us to do. God’s been opening up the campus even from the being of April until now!

Just this Wednesday we were sitting in a large socializing area asking God what his heart was for that time. So we felt like we heard to stay there and build relationships. We didn’t really know if it meant go talk to other people and we didn’t want to be passive by just waiting there, but we felt like it was okay on this occasion. And then this guy comes up to us because he had recognized our one leader who had been there the year before doing an outreach. It turns out that this guy had built relationship with her leader but they had lost contact. So through this it seems like God has reconnected this non-Christian Japanese man back with our amazing school leader!! He works in awesome ways!!
Praise reports: My mom finally sold her business back in Canada!! I have all my airfare money!! My fellow student’s non-Christian mother is suddenly going to church and is curious about faith!! God has and is bringing more freedom into my life!! The community environment at the YWAM Tokyo base is full of love, encouragement and godly amazing people!! Prayer Requests: Revelation of his love (and a deeper hunger for him)!! I need around $1,300 more dollars for my outreach fee (which is due on May 30th, please email me if you’re interesting in supporting me financially). That all the staff and students would be refreshed and rested this weekend!! One of the families who is a part of our community just had their third child, so pray for rest for them and health!! And another baby is on the way; please pray for a healthy baby and mother and that the rest of the family is at peace as well. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR PRAYERS! 🙂 IF YOU HAVE ANY PRAYER REQUESTS PLEASE EMAIL THEM TO ME!! 🙂
